AI against food waste · Starting in Riyadh
Grabt knows what a store won’t sell before it expires, prices it with AI and offers it to the people nearby at 30% off or more. The store sells instead of binning, neighbours save, and less food is wasted.
About
Every store has good products nearing their date. Nobody knows whether they’ll sell in time, or at what price, so they end up in the bin: the store loses the revenue, neighbours miss the savings, and the food is wasted. Grabt knows what won’t sell, prices it, and offers it to the people around the store before it’s thrown away.
$60B+1
lost to food loss and waste every year across the Near East and North Africa, a conservative estimate.
33%2
of food in Saudi Arabia is wasted, costing close to SAR 40 billion a year.
The date is printed on the label, but nobody knows which batch won’t sell in time.
Every unit that expires on the shelf is a total loss: its price, and the cost of disposing of it.
A few doors away, families look for real savings and never learn the discount exists.
How it works
Grabt is software for stores and a marketplace for shoppers in one platform, and every turn of the loop teaches it more about products, prices and demand.
A real recording of the app: a fire offer, the cart, then group buying.
The store
It snaps the expiry label with a phone, and Grabt predicts how much won’t sell before the date.
Grabt
Autopilot picks the highest price that still sells every unit in time, and shows it to the people around the store.
Neighbours
A single order, a group order with free delivery, or a bundle for a team of neighbours.
Everyone
The store sells instead of binning, and knows how much to order next time.
And every sale teaches the model: each product’s shelf life, price sensitivity, and the rhythm of demand at every store.
For shoppers
Good products from stores around you at 30% off or more, each deal with a photo of the product and of its date label.
Time Fire Offers
Deeper prices for a few hours, live for everyone nearby the moment they start and gone the moment they end.
Group buying
Neighbours' orders from the same store travel on one route. Four rules make it work:
Neighbour bundles
Grabt agrees baskets with stores at a lower price, unlocked when a team of neighbours fills.
Deals around you
The stores around you, their deals, fire offers and open group orders, updating as you look.
Bread by any name, in Arabic or English, typos included.
Save what you’re after and we’ll tell you the moment it’s on a deal, at most 3 alerts a day.
Pick up your order yourself and earn 10 points for every kilometre you travel.
Every deal and the map with no account; you sign in with your phone only to order.
mada, Apple Pay, cards, or cash
A real photo of the product and its date label, a date Grabt checks before the deal goes live, and rated stores with a trust badge.
For stores
The expiry date is printed on the label. What nobody knows is whether it will sell before then, and at what price. That’s what Grabt answers, with models a store owner can read.
Autopilot pricing
Autopilot lowers a deal’s price by itself so the last unit sells before the last hour, at the highest price that does.
“Selling slower than expected: 3 of 40 sold in 12 hours. Thursday demand runs higher, so we cut less.”

Label reading
The phone reads the production and expiry dates off the label, and Grabt remembers every barcode’s shelf life to suggest the date before you snap.
Smart buying
For every product: what you received, what sold at full price, what Grabt rescued, what was wasted, and how much to order next time.
“36% of the yoghurt went to waste in the last 4 weeks: order 26 fewer.”
Smart alerts
A risk score for every batch from its sales velocity and days left, with a suggested discount and an instant alert.

FAQ
Yes. Every deal is for a product that hasn’t expired, with a real photo of it and of its date label, its production and expiry dates and the time left. Grabt checks the date against the label before the deal goes live, and buyers rate the store after every order.
Every deal is at least 30% off its original price, and fire offers go deeper for a few hours.
You order with neighbours from the same store, the orders travel on one route, and delivery is free. You live within 5 km of each other, and leaving after you join costs SAR 10, added to your next order.
No. Browse the deals, the map and fire offers as a guest, and sign in with your phone number when you order.
mada, Apple Pay, cards, or cash. Online payments happen at the payment gateway; we never store your card.
The first 30 days are free, then $30 a month for the software and 5% of each completed order, nothing more. Grabt Ads are optional at SAR 299 a month.
No, a phone is enough: it scans barcodes and reads expiry labels with the camera. POS and inventory integrations are on our roadmap.
We start with a pilot in Riyadh in 2027, then the rest of Saudi Arabia in 2028, then Egypt and other markets in the region.
